Underground Lovers Book Launch & Festival of Fungi Lunch with Alison Pouliot

The warm welcome from Adam and Danielle proprietors of the Northern Republic and a glass of wine on arrival set the tone for the sixty people to chill out, enjoy great food and look forward to hearing from Alison Pouliot.
The menu especially designed by the chef for the Festival of Fungi’s lunch was both felicitous and delicious! As well the lunch met slow food parameters mushrooms – locally sourced and high quality.
The mix of locals and visitors sitting together at tables added a fresh buzz of conversation. Also some interesting insights into how or why they were at the lunch – ‘I just googled Euroa’.
Competing with food and conversation isn’t a pushover for any speaker but it’s never a problem for Alison. Apart from her credentials as renowned ecologist, photographer and author she is an engaging story teller. The stories shared traced her journey from the Australian desert to Iceland and Alaska’s glaciers, always seeking out new insights into the Kingdom Fungi.
