Awe and Wonder in Nature Art workshop
The Strathbogie Ranges Conservation Management Network offers this workshop by Sim Ayres as part of their series of art workshops that aim to bring new insights into the natural world. The Awe and Wonder project is funded by a Landcare grant.
Time & Date: 10:00am – 3:00pm, Sunday the 7th of August 2022
Location: Mount Wombat, Strathbogie
Cost: $28 (materials and afternoon tea included, BYO lunch)
A hands-on workshop and conversation on pattern recognition and map making. On what maps tell us about the world, and what they could represent if we stretched our imagination a little. Mapping from the perspective of a wombat, or an ant, from the movement of lichen and moss over rocks, and the slow time of erosion.
Sim has been captivated by the country of the Strathbogie ranges since moving here 25 years ago. He has been making maps since he first learned to read them.
